Well it’s all systems go!!
My coastal challenge is really starting to take shape now and I’m amazed at how many people have stepped forward with donations (at www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/stoked-stroke-survivors-and-supporters ) or have offered their skills/ time/ advice… thank you!!
My aim of this challenge is to promote life after stroke and raise funds to assist other stroke/brain injury survivors & their families to enjoy a beach activity.
A full challenge itinerary can be found in my website, so please go view and get in touch via the contact form or direct message through my socials.
I will be running and walking 65 miles over 3x consecutive days, along the South West Coast Path from Newquay to Sennen Cove with my friend and personal coach Stuart Thompson. I will be supported along the way by a small team of professionals & close family.
Due to the very uneven terrain, I will be using poles (thanks Matt Walters) to assist me and have found they really help with my balance issues & visual loss. One factor I can’t change is the weather, so I’ve been out training in all sorts… after one recent muddy session my legs looked like I had applied a fake tan to my skin!!
A huge thank you also to Geo Tracks who are kindly supporting my challenge with a “live tracker” system that will be linked to my website and supporters will be able to view my progress from the comfort of their sofa.
More details will be released soon, but please spread the word or get in touch with any questions or support.
Thank you, Danny.
