Today I went from one extreme to the other…
Curious to view a recent British soap storyline regarding a character having a stroke, I watched the Monday (21/03/22) episode of Emmerdale.
As a stroke survivor, the scenes were completely authentic to me and took me right back to my own experiences. I have been invited on to the James Churchfield BBC radio Cornwall breakfast show this Friday 25/03/22, to discuss this story and my views.

Soon after I had wiped the tears of emotion, I received a message to invite me over to Cornwall College Camborne campus, by one of my amazing former lecturers Rob Smith. It is here where I trained and gained my plumbing & heating qualifications over a decade ago, so I was happy for a distraction and chance for a trip down memory lane.
Upon arrival I was floored by the friendly staff & students who wished me every success in my project to help other stroke survivors here in Cornwall. I have been given an amazing piece of copper art that shows a surfer riding a wave!! (Thank you Rob Smith, Joel Morison & college team).
Thank you to everyone I met today and it fills me with pride that our local communities are full of supportive individuals willing to help others!
I certainly believe in how a tiny gesture, or a smile, can make a huge difference to someone else’s day!
